Gina Boccolucci (she/her) was born and raised in Buffalo, New York where she comes from a fine art background with experience in painting, sculpture, bookmaking, and printmaking. She received her BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from the University at Buffalo (SUNY) and her MFA in Production Technology, specifying in props, at Ohio University.

 

She has worked professionally in the Buffalo theatre community as a scenic painter and craftsperson. During the summers she has held staff positions STAGES St. Louis (2017) and at The Santa Fe Opera (2018, 2020). She currently works at the University at Buffalo as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Some of her honors and acclamations include First Place in the 2020 SETC Properties Design Competition, KCACTF Region II Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Scenic & Properties Design for 45 Plays for 45 President’s, Gina was the founding secretary for the University at Buffalo’s student chapter of USITT (UBUSITT), she then held the position of Chair of UBUSITT for her senior year, and was part of the twelve-person build team of the United States’ 2019 Exhibit at the Prague Quadrennial.
